Question

End Table - Baumritter
Hi, I recently purchased this end table at an estate sale.  The woman running the sale called it an 'Ethan Allen' but I found 'Furniture by Baumritter' burned into the bottoms of both drawers.  Does this mean anything as far as value, etc?  Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Hi Yvonne, Baumritter was the founder of Ethan Allen Furniture, and I believe it became Ethan Allen in the mid sixties. Your piece is Pine, and it's style looks like about that era. Well made and functional, stylistically fairly plain, they don't have much resale value, as knotty Pine isn't quite as desirable as other cabinet grade woods like Maple, Cherry, etc. It appears that this end table has round casters on it, and those would not have been original....hope that helps- regards- Greg
