Question
I sent a question yesterday, regarding the conversion varnish on the bathroom cabinet. What would you use to take the conversion varnish off?

Thanks a bunch,

a bit of good news

Answer
Hi Jay
This is the product I would use to remove CV.

There is no afterwash needed and it will not raise the grain of the wood. Do not sand after the stripping or you will create another problem LOL.
It clings to vertical surfaces too.
It will be easiest to remove all doors or drawers and do as much as you can in the garage. The case cannot be moved but make sure you mask off all areas around the cabinet to avoid damaging them.
And cover the floor well.
Start your stripping on the removable pieces in the garage to get the feel of the job.
Please read and follow all directions on the can.
Good Luck with this.

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
