Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/fumes from stripping

Question
Our HUGE project is almost done!!!  Well worth it!!  Strange question...  My electric oven smells like gas since we've been stripping, varnishing and staining.  I read this was caused by the little dust particles get trapped in the oven and heating up when you first turn it on.  Any idea how long this will last and is there anything I can do about it?  Thanks so much, again  : )Tricia

Answer
Hi Tricia
Nice to hear from you.
You read right.
I have experienced this on occasion too.
Get a fan going and try to vent your house.
Open cross windows or doors.
Yes, a strange question but it emphasizes the importance of good ventilation when we have to do this work in the home.
Thanks for the reminder. Its something we should all be aware of as this surely is not healthy.
Kind Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
