Question
I recently painted some pieces the day after a rain storm. It has been quit humid and the furniture feels tacky like it hasn't really dried and also appears a little thick.  should i strip it and start over? what else can you suggest?

Answer
Hi Krys
Nice to hear from you.
I think I'd wait and give the paint a good chance to dry before resorting to stripping it off (what a job).
Can't see why it won't dry if you dry the air with a bit of heat perhaps.
Get back to me if that fails.
And also let me know if the paint was a new can or old stuff you had on hand.
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
