Question
We chose the wrong color for our bathroom cabinets. They were professionally painted a mauve color and also have the "splatter" effect in a dark brown. I wanted them more of a gold color with the same splatter/spotted effect. Will I have to sand them and start over or could I possibly get a gold-colored glaze and put a coat on them to tone down the mauve color? I think I might have to hire a professional!

Hi Michelle, I don't think you can hope to change these with some type of glaze....why did you sign off on the sample if it wasn't what you wanted...you did get a sample ....right?? If these were painted with paint, you won't be very successful sanding them down, and priming over them and painting yet more coats will likely result in a "thick" looking paint job that won't be very durable....the other option is to have the paint stripped off....were they painted over bare wood, or an existing cabinet finish?
