Question
I have started a reupholstering project of a seat and back chair with arms opened. The springs are zigzag and I have tied them together and covered the springs with burlap. The question is now do I put webbing on the back of the springs. Trying to go by a book called Reupholstering at home. but it shows no pictures for the zigzag springs there was not any webbing in the seat when I stripped everything down to the bare bones so that gave me no clue.

Answer
Hi Jan,

Webbing is to hold coil springs in place, zig-zag or no-sag springs do not use any webbing,  it sounds like you did the job the way is supposed to be done, you tied the springs together and then covered that with burlap, so you are done with the springs and did a good job. :-)

The answer to your subject statement "what do I do next" is add the padding and upholstery fabric.
