Question
I had a bathroom vanity made, problem I do not want to just paint it. I would like for it to look old and distressed. Someone told me about applying a colored stain then rubbing a gel over it. Do you know how to do this, if so could I could get the procedure to do it. Thanks Monique
Hi Monique, there are many different ways to get a distressed look, with stains,Dyes, Gels, clear finishes, paints, glazes, waxes, etc.....I can't possibly explain all these techniques to you, but if you know what effect your trying to get, it makes it easier to know how to help you. I would suggest you research these finish techniques on the web, in the library, and at furniture stores......establish what you want to do, and then "reverse engineer" the technique.....at that point, I can help furhter, I'm sure......regards- Greg
