Question
A haze has developed and covers our beautiful rosewood dining table which we bought in China 15 years ago.  Is there something we can do to restore its original lustre? The table has been little used but frequently dusted. We have tried to speak with an employee in a rosewood furniture store about this but language is a real problem.  They say only an expert can salvage the table and at great expense.  We seek your expert advice, Greg.

Hi Clare, it's likely a lacquer finish, but could be a Tung oil finish....very hard to know. When you say a haze, is it a whitish haze?...and what's your cleaning regiment...you say it's only been "dusted"....please elaborate on that.....that can mean a lot of things...
