Question
QUESTION: Where can I purchase laminate to refinish some old furniture and what product do I use to bond it with the wood?

ANSWER: Hi Lynn
Do you mean wood laminate (veneer)?

QUESTION: yes, thank you

Answer
Hi Again Lynn
If you want to avoid mail order, go to local businesses that sell lumber products. In my area we simply call this "The Lumber Yard", but I don't want the term to mislead you. These places sell more than just lumber for construction. They have access to what you want and likely samples.
If places like Home Depot carry veneer I am not aware of it but in truth I never asked LOL.
To apply new veneer we use contact cement.
There are many many places online with info about applying veneer.
My hats off to you for taking this on.
Kind Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
