Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/removing whitewash

Question
How do I remove whitewash from bamboo chairs and a wicker table?  And once removed do I have to do anything else if I want them in their natural color?

Answer
Hi Dora
Nice to hear from you.
The answer to your question is "I have no idea" LOL.
Seriously Dora do you know if this is real bamboo and real wicker?
If its not, you will totally ruin both pieces attempting to remove the finish.
And attempting to remove whitewash from either of these pieces will be a nightmare. Paint stripper will be needed.
And if you were sucessful in removing the finish, a new clear coat of some kind should be applied I would think.
Get back to me if needed
Kind Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
