Question
I have no clue on the best air gun to be used to apply varnish on wooden furniture as well as metallic ones. I've seen basically two different options:Gravity feed guns and the ones which have their paint cups in an underneath position. Since I'm going to use oil base base paint(enamel/varnish) to paint them, which of those air guns would be the most appropriate?

Answer
Siphon feed and gravity feed guns would handle oil based products, but you need to plan to have the right needle/cap combination, and a pretty hefty compressor with high CFM's, and be pretty familiar with adjusting a gun to get the best results... The difference in the guns is really just usability...and a lot of gravity feed guns use a translucent cup, so you can see the level of your liquid in the gun. When you get down to the end of the cup, it tends to start to spit and sputter, and being able to see the level in the cup can help you control that. I would buy an HVLP setup or an HVLP conversion gun ,(one that's designed for a compressor) if I was in the market for a system nowadays...I'm wondering why you're choosing to spray varnish though....there are so many better choices...
