Question
Hello Mark,

My name is Tena and I own a leather sofa. The problem that I am having is the filling located on the arms of the sofa. The filling has somehow moved from the top of the arm and has fallen down the side of the sofa. I have had the sofa for several years and if at all possible would like to keep it because it is in good shape. Would you be able to offer any advice on how I would be able to replace or refill the arms again?

Thanks!

Tena~

Answer
Hello Tena

Well in the event that you have lost the original paperwork all may not be lost.  Upholstered furniture is required, by law, to have a "law label"  in most States this is the white label that states on top "do not remove under penalty of law"  it is the retail store that is not allowed to remove that label - not the consumer.  If that law label is still attached it will contain all the information you need to contact the manufacturer,  the law label will state the manufacturer's license number, which the Bureau of Home furnishing can use to identify the address of the manufacturer,  the date the sofa was made and the materials it was made from and inside - hidden from view.  With that information you should not need anything else and could still use that to file a claim against the manufacturer or the retailer.

I hope this helps,  good luck,  please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
