can i change the color on cedar and refinish it

Nice to hear from you.
Changing the color depends on what the current color is.
If the cedar now has a dark stain you cannot make it lighter without agressive sanding to remove the abdsorbed dark stain (not a good thing).
But if its light now, there is no problem going dark after of course a complete stripping with paint stripper.
Cedar being so soft really absorbs stain.
