Question
QUESTION: Greetings,
I have a question in regard to putting veneer around the circumference of a table using bendie board, making a column as a table base.
I measured the circumference with a flexible sewing measuring tape and got 40".  I measured 40" on the bendie board.  When putting the bendie board around the circumference, it is  two inch gap short????  Please advise!
Thank you.  Wish i had taken an image...

ANSWER: Did you use the same measuring tape to measure out the bendie board? Sewing tapes are not the same scale as a tape measure, it sounds like that may be the issue....check it out side by side with a regular measuring tape and you'll see what I mean...post back- regards- Greg

QUESTION: The same tape measure was used.

Answer
I'm kind of at a loss here to explain how you could be 2" short...that doesn't make sense to me. If you've measured accurately and transferred that measurement accurately, there's no way you could be that off....the only other way to do it is the old cabinet makers technique of actually wrapping the bendie board around it temporarily and physically mark it exactly where it meets........
