Question
I would like to refinish and old antique cabinet and it has wood laminate on it and it hascracked and is peeling could you give me some advice I have done some other typesof refinishing so I am not totally new to this.
thanks Cindy

Answer
Hi Cindy, you'll have to glue all the loose areas down, using something like a pallet knife and the right glue. If the glue looks brown and gets sticky when you put a little water on it with a finger, then you need to use Hide glue to repair it. If you can't determine the glue type, or don't see any, then you can use a PVA type glue, (Elmers, Titebond, etc). Blue masking tape can be a big help to clamy areas and/or hold everything in place....but you may need some actual clamps to glue some of these areas back down. As for the cracked areas, they can be filled with a wood filler and then colored to match the final finish. Any other concerns I can help with?- Post back if need be - Greg
