Question
I have a duncan fife drop leaf table that needs veneer removed i ahve tried a heat gun but very time consuming do you have Any siggestions?

Answer
Strip the area of all finish, sand it with 120 to deglaze it, then take a steam iron set on med.high (the water should just sizzle when you put the iron on it), pour some water on the veneer, (work in sections about 6x6"), and steam off the veneer, working a spatula/pallet knife under it as you go....if it's a period piece it will be glued with hide glue and will loosen up easily....it is time consuming, and you don't want to get things too wet as you work, but it will come off.......hope that helps- Greg
