Question
We are rebuilding a settee and can't decide on no-sag springs or pocketed coil springs. We have some experienced help, and our interest is in having a firm seat that doesn't sink in too much, and will stay firm for more than 5 years. How would you compare these spring types?

Answer
Hi,  absolutely go with the no-sag springs,  pocketed coil springs are not firm enough for a seat, they are for cushion inserts.
.
No-sag springs live up to their name no - sag,  their life expectancy is 20 + years or as long as the clips that hold them in place. No-sag springs will outlast any other spring.

Make certain you have the heavy gauge no-sag springs for seats and not the lighter gauge springs for backs and place them no more than 5" apart, join them together with helical springs, rubber bands or spring twine and you will have a very firm seat.
