Question
I have a wood mantel that is stained a maple and I want to change it to cherry.  What is the best method?

I need some more info to answer this.
It could be this will be fairly easy or impossible to accomplish in the home.
But I need to know..
What type of wood is the mantle?
How old is it?
Can it be taken to the garage and worked on?
