Question
The cabinets and all the trim are a very light weight wood with a thick paper finish that makes it look like real wood.I would like to know if I can paint over this paper finish? It is very smooth but scratches easy. There are a few places that it is beginning to peel off the wood at the bottom cabinet doors. I want to do whatever I can to preserve the appearance and not have scuffed up cabinets and trim. When buying a manufactured (mobile) home, BUYER BEWARE. Don't expect them to be the quality they appear to be based on the high price you pay per sq.ft.
Hi Jean, you can make the necessary repairs with wood glue and clamps, the clean it well and prime and paint, but these are notoriously cheap, so you're limited in your ability to make them look really nice. Hope that helps, post back if need be- regards-Greg
