Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/cedar box

Question
I have a small cedar box that i got and there was some sort of adhesive on the top. I took my time and scraped most of it off and then I used some goo gone. I think that helped but it is still sticky on top. Any suggestions on how to remove the rest of it? Could I just sand it off and if so I suppose I would need to sand the whole box then. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Try using a "triple zero" steel wool. You can also try using the steel wool in conjunction with a furniture oil.(something that is good for cedar preferably) Not sure if what you have is solid cedar or just a veneer. But if worse comes to worse, solid wood is easy to deal with if you are forced to sand. But a veneer can be tricky, so I would try your luck with the oil and steel wool first. Good luck!
