About Eileen Cronk
Expertise
Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience
I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.

Question
i have a rosewood table to finish, can i use lacquer

Answer
Hi Jimbo
Nice to hear from you.
What we put on a piece depends on the use it will get.
I have yet to see a cloudy poly finish but I have seen lots of cloudy lacquer finishes.
I also dislike working with lacquer.
If you are proficient with applying lacquer finishes, by all means use it.
If you are a novice, my first choice for you is tung oil.
Its fool proof, protects well and looks great.
Its just a matter of choice.
Regards
Eileen
