Question
I am going to remove a cooktop replace it with a freestanding range.  I need to cut my cabinet what size saw blade do you recommend?  Any extra tips would be helpful.
Thanks
Tony

Answer
Tony,

I'll need more information before I can answer your question.

What sort of saw are you using? Reciprocal? Circular? How are you planning on cutting it? Can you just cut the countertop away? You will need about 30" of space for your range. Make sure whatever you cut out will leave you with 30" of space.

Regardless of the saw, you'll want to use a fairly fine blade, to reduce chipping of the wood. And if you can, clamp down a straight edge so your saw doesn't waver and make a crooked cut.

How do you plan on treating the raw edges of your cabinet box, as well as the raw edge of the countertop? All these details need to be considered before you start cutting.

Send me more info, I'll try to help with a little more detail.
