Question
I need to cut into a cabinet that currently covers my vent tubing for my cooktop range. My microwave sits right above my cooktop and is too low. What is the best way for me to cut the cabinet above it in half, along with the vent tubing, so that I can move my microwave up to a safe and comfortable level above the cooktop?

Hi Lori, without seeing the situation, it's tough for me to advise you, but there probably isn't an easy way to accomplish this.To do it properly, you'll most likely need to remove the cabinet and the duct work, and then cut them to the desired size, and reinstall them.If you've never attempted such a job, I would suggest leaving it to a Pro, as this is exacting work that needs to be done carefully and accurately, and one could easily screw it up.Perhaps if you can post a picture, I can help further........
