Question
What can I do to pull a stain out of my garage doors if I feel it is too red and want to make it a little browner (or more of a honey color).   I haven't put a poly on yet and I hope I don't have to go all the way back to the original wood.  The wood is pine and I used an English Chestnut by Minwax.

Hi Sandy, unfortunately reds are the hardest to remove or change "browner". This stain is also an interior stain, so I hope we're talking about the inside of your garage doors. There isn't much you can do other than stripping it all off, and because it's a soft wood, even that may not remove the reddish tones. Again, this is why it's SO important to do a test area on ANY project before moving ahead and committing to the staining.Post back- regards- Greg
