Hello
I have a table that is made from reclaimed barnwood and was finished with miniwax tung oil we set a hot plate of the table and it made a mark The ring is not white, but sort of cloudy, one has to look at an angle to see it. Almost looks like an imprint. What would you recommend to do to fix it.

Hi Kelly, I think you're on the right track, but you may have to rub out the whole top with 0000 steel wool and then reapply a coat of the Tung oil. You can also rub the table with the steel wool AND the oil in long overlapping strokes and then wipe it off after a few minutes. Don't wait too long or the Tung oil will start to get sticky and won't come off easily or evenly....It sounds like there may be a heavy layer of Tung oil on the table, and these finishes are typically better when not allowed to build up too thick.
