Question
I have a windsor chair that's in in the family for over 50 yrs.
My dad bought it home one day saying it was over fifty yrs old
so that would make over a hundred yrs old . Partical label says
Progressive Makers on top Bent Brothers under neath that.
Gardner Ma what is the connection ? Any idea of Value ? Can send pictures.

Answer
A picture would help me to confirm that it is an actual windsor chair. The "scandinavian" version of the windsor chair is a rounded back with skinny slats. It is all solid wood, we primarily sold them in solid teak. So the seat was just solid wood. Solid rounded legs that may or may not have a cross piece connecting them.

The connection to Gardner Ma could just be a store at one time that was carrying them, but I highly doubt that they were being produced here. My records only indicate the design being around for about 50 years(the 60's)
