Question
I had a paper covered book on my end table. It must have gotten wet somehow, (perhaps it wasn't dry the last time I polished it?) and now the paper is stuck to the wood! How do I remove the paper without damaging the wood? I appreciate your help!
Hi Candi, it kind of depends on what the finish is, if it's an Antique you need to be very gentle...but a little warm water with a few drops of dishwashing detergent in it, gently applied to the paper with a sponge might loosen it, just keep wetting it over the course of 5-10 minutes...you don't want to scrub it too hard, and you certainly don't want to scrape at it with anything hard, but a plastic spatula or similar might need to be employed...but it should loosen up pretty easily..just don't leave it wet for too long and be sure to hand dry it afterward....hope that helps- regards- Greg
