Question
Am Chief of Maintenance of a hotel and when we first opened the maids put pledge on the new wood now when  the guests hair touch the headboard it shows,I've been told this is because of the pledge, we never have used pledge after the first time.And now i see one of the suggestion is mineral spirts is this true, i thought that would make my problem worst.I have also heard of a product call doozy
that can also remove pledge without damaging the wood.
Any help would be very Grateful

Hey Mike, Pledge contains silicone and oils, and mineral spirits will probably remove it, but it will likely need several cleanings with lots of clean rags to do so...what's even worse is that Pledge can actually damage a finish if over applied over a long period...I haven't heard of Doozy, but the headboards are probably lacquer and that's pretty tough...but it is sensitive to certain chemicals..make sure to check it's suitability on lacquered furniture.Regards- Greg
