Question
Hello - I am replacing kitchen cabinets at a beach house in southern New Jersey.  We have lots of windows and prefer fresh air to air conditioning - though we have air conditioning for those really hot and humid days.  So, my question is this - is there any wood that is better or worse with high humidity conditions?

Hi Marie, typically the harder the wood, the more stable it can be...woods like Hickory, White Oak, Hard Maple, Birch will be pretty stable..and a modern factory applied, catalyzed finish will help seal the wood and protect better than any self applied finish.Hope that helps- feel free to post back- Greg
