Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/Molding and Laminate

Question
Hello, I am an interior architect and would like top specify a wood molding to go on top of wall hung cabinets. However, the cabinets are laminate and I wanted to have the molding painted white. Is this okay to do, as far as using the wood molding and laminate together? Thank you!!

I see no reason why you couldn't use laminated cabinets and wood molding together. In fact, it's done on a regular basis.

Perhaps you were referring to the wood movement (solid wood moves, whereas laminate cabinets generally do not)? Still, builders use solid wood (like crown molding, for example) with laminated cabinets quite often. It's perfectly fine to paint the wood, too, if that is what the client wants.
