Question
I am currently having new cabinets installed, how ever they were sent in the wrong finish.  The color is correct, the wood is cherry, however the finish is flat.  Is there a way to obtain a satin finish.  Is a flat finish on kitchen cabinets difficult to maintain? You help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Danielle, the newer catalyzed lacquers and urethanes are a bit flatter in sheen in some cases, what did you order? Satin can be quite flat vs. a semi gloss, but they should match the sample you selected. There is no way to change them without reshooting the topcoat, though. If they're not right, don't have them installed.....that would be my suggestion,make sure they are what you ordered.Feel free to post back- regards- Greg
