Question
Hi Kirk.I Recently Bought A Bunk Bed. I Did Not Realize Till A Few Days Later On One Side There Were Many Not Deep Scratches.  The Color On The Box Says PECAN. How Would You Recommend Touching It Up Or Hiding Scratches. Is There A Touch Up Pen That Would Work? That Would Be The Easiest. What Color?   Thanks

Answer

Guardsman
I was unfamiliar with the pecan finish. But after looking at a few pictures, kind of shocked how close it is to a teak or a dark walnut. Surprisingly some of the touch up pens I use are actually different shades of walnut. I use some from a company called "Guardsmen."

I have found these pens at Bed Bath & Beyond and also Home Depot. They usually come in a pack with 3 different shades. You probably will like the look of the lightest shade the best. The medium shade looks like it'd be best, but its actually a bit darker dried. There is also a company called "Mohawk" that has endless touch up colors in marker form that I like to work with.

Hope this helps.
