Question
Hi Greg, I have a dining room table that is to big to fit in my dining room so I was wondering if there was anything I could do to turn it into a outdoor patio table? It is a oak table and I live in the northern part of Utah, so I would definitely be covering it for the winter. Any thoughts regarding this would be great.

Typically, it's not advisable to use interior furniture in an outside environment. It's just not constructed with that in mind. The glues, construction techniques, fasteners, etc., are not designed for the swings in humidity, moisture, and weathering of the outdoor environment. It also will not have a finish that's designed for this type of exposure, and even if stripped and refinished, the other factors will likely make it unsuitable....giving it a very short life..... regards- Greg
