Question

leather topped coffee
Hello, I have an old round leather topped coffee table that the leather is lifting on one side. My question is, What is the best type of adhesive to secure the leather again? Any Help is much appreciated.

Answer
Hi Chad
Nice to hear from you.
On antique furniture its best to use hide glue but the problem is you will likely have to order it. Its not something found at the hardware store.
You can get it here

Carpenters glue will work fine if you are not a purist LOL
Hope this helps

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
