Question
Hi Mark- contacted you in June regarding a pull-out cushion to a whicker chair- have the supplies, ready to go- just one more question- when I cover the foam with the dacron batting- do I wrap the whole seat in the batting, or just put layers on top of the foam to achieve my "crown" for the seat?  Also- do I put any batting on the sides of the seat where the metal frame meats the foam?

Answer
Hello Lisa,

You should have one or two layers of Dacron on the top and bottom surfaces, depending on the amount of crow you desire.  There should be one layer and no more on the front and the back surfaces and no Dacron on the sides.  The most beautiful cushion is usually achieved by placing one layer on the top, one on the bottom and then wrapping one layer over the whole thing beginning at the back.  The easiest way to join the Dacron where the two ends come together is on one back edge and use an ordinary hand stapler or desk stapler to hold it all together.

I hope this helps,  have fun and happy sitting.

Mark.
