QUESTION: Hello,
I have a small cabinet with  5 drawers that have no runners or drawer guides.(standard frame cabinet) The problem is that as soon as I pull the drawer, it falls out of the cabinet. The drawers look fine from the front but dont fit inside.
I enclosed some photos so you can see what I'm talking about.
The drawers are about 10 1/2 " deep. Do you have any drawer guides I can use? I have other photos if that will help.
thanks very much for your help

ANSWER: Hey Dave, those sure look like drawer runners in the pictures....but there may be upper guides missing, difficult to know without inspecting it. A furniture maker or cabinet maker would be able to replace, and/or recreate whatever was missing....you won't find a ready fit solution, and because the depth is so short, the drawers will have a tendency to fall out when pulled out..(when loaded they probably will be a little more stable). If this is an oriental piece, it may have a more elaborate drawer guide system....they often do. Hope that helps a little- post back if need be- regards- Greg

QUESTION: Hi Greg,
You're right, it is an oriental piece. I live in Japan and bought it at an auction. And when I pull the drawer it wants to fall completely out.
Here's a photo- There must be away to create some kind of ......
for it.
thanks very much
Dave

Answer
This cabinet is constructed to narrowly to allow for the drawers to ever be stable. An upper guide runner system that contacts the top of the drawers sides could probably be designed and installed, but that would need to be done by a cabinetmaker/furniture restorer, as it takes a bit of skill and accurate woodworking to do......these drawers are just not deep enough.
