Question
I have Schuller wood kitchen cabinets (Savannah Maple; color Champagne, Burnished) that are factory finished.  The finish on a couple of the heavily used cabinets is becoming sticky despite the fact that I wipe them regularly (using no harsh cleansers).  What is causing this, and what can I do about it?

Answer
Hi Gail, it's likely that your non use of stronger cleansers is good for the finish, but might not be cleaning the surface of the finish well.....grease, oils, dirt, etc. can still be building up on the surface....I would try some mineral spirits on a rag and see if that removes the film of stickiness. It will not hurt the finish, but will cut any build up that your cleaning regimen misses. Formby's also makes a glorified mineral spirits called "Deep Cleansing Buildup remover".

If this is not successful, I would contact Schuller and see what they can recommend. Hope that helps- post back if need be- regards- Greg
