Question
My tambour door closes ok, but immediately starts creeping open as soon as I let go of it, until it's fully open again.  Currently, the only way I can keep it closed is to close it and immediatly wedge a thin squeege between it and the upper part of the garage opening. I have to remove and replace the squeege every time I need to get something out of the garage. This is a temporary fix, but looks really tacky. How can this be repaired?

Hi Edi, has it always done this? If the tambour used was oversized, the weight may tend to pull it back I suppose...but it's unusual....unfortunately removing the tambour is not possible without getting at the back of the cabinet it's in, and that would be a big job requiring the disassembly of the cabinets....but possible to do. I wonder if mounting some counter weights on the inside edge of the tambour would work.....maybe some washers or even some round magnets (as they're heavy for their size), screwed to the inside edge?
