Question
Our table is just 9 months old and it has white marks from heat plates. The table had to been defective. But the company will not cover the warranty. How do we fix this table? Does a iron really work as suggested on the DIY? I don't want to make it worse help if you can with sound advise! Thank You Dee

Answer
Heat marks on a finish are NOT a defect.......and they are usually caused by heat and/or moisture affecting the finish which is likely lacquer. An Iron will make it worse, and you can further damage the surface....there is a product called "blush eraser", which is an aerosol of solvents that can amalgamate the finish to let the moisture rings escape, and then re-harden, but this has to be done VERY carefully, and by someone trained, (in my opinion)......and it may or may not work. Lacquer repair and touch up/restoration/refinishing, is NOT a DIY job. It takes experience and knowledge to be able to know what to do, and how to do it, and what products and materials to use. You will likely have to have the table refinished if the damage is widespread and/or really bad. I would call in a Pro to evaluate it with you....they will offer that service at no charge....post back if need be- Greg
