Answer
Hi again Gladys
If you are absolutely sure the dresser is solid wood, it really is not that big a job stripping and putting a dark stain and new finish on.
Let me know and I'll send the instructions.
Many Thanks for the great ratings

Hi Gladys
Nice to hear from you.
If this dresser is only 20 years old you are wise not to want to strip it.
Chances are its not real wood and cannot be stripped.
What are your thoughts about painting it? I have been doing a lot of that lately with some "old newer furniture" and it looks quite nice.
Pretty easy too. Just remove all hardware, lightly sand with 120 grit paper and paint in the color of your choice. Black is great. But I recently painted a bedroom set in charcoal grey that was spectacular.
Hope this helps

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
