Question
I have sanded down a piece of furniture that is laminated. Opps I already painted it with latex paint before using a primer. My question is "What will happen if I put clear coat over now, because I didn't use the primer first? Will it peel off or bubble? Should I go back resand, prime and then paint, or will it be okay as is?

Any help is greatly appreciated?

Hi Joann, was it plastic laminate?...or just a wood veneer?...it should be ok, and you can clear coat it without fear, just use a waterborne acrylic clear and you'll be fine. It may not stand up as well as it would have if you used a primer, especially if it is a tabletop or other work surface.....but it will likely be alright.....post back if need be- regards- Greg
