Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/knotty pine walls

Question
Our knotty pine walls are lighter where there are pictures hung and behind furniture.  I am selling my home and will need to repair the wood so it will match.  Any ideas?

Hi Jackie. there really isn't much you can do...Pine is famous for this, (and other woods, to an extent, too), as the UV light that hits the walls daily oxidizes and changes the color of the material. Anything that blocks the natural UV rays, (pictures, furniture, etc), keeps the the natural aging process from happening at the same rate.You won't be able to say, stain the offending areas......you could always paint, or cover it over with another paneling...but that's really all you can do easily.Wish I had a better answer, but this is one of the drawbacks with natural wood paneling. It will ALWAYS change with time and exposure, and anything on the walls or blocking significant areas from the natural light....will "ghost" because it's sheltered....regards- Greg
