Question
The melamine is peeling away from the material used to create my cabinet doors, which looks like pressed wood or some sort of fiberboard. Can melamine be re-applied to the bare 'wood' left after the melamine is fully stripped away? If not, what are my other options other than buying new cabinets?

Hi Michael, repairs on this type of substrate are not usually very successful. Trying to strip off the Melamine entirely might tear out the press board and make a further mess of it. There are not many options, unfortunately. If this is widespread throughout the cabinets, then it's best to replace or reface....wish I had a better answer- regards- Greg
