Question
I have an 'almost antique' round coffee table with the majority of the table surface is inlayed leather.
Can I place glass over the table top without damaging the leather?  Does the leather need to 'breathe'? I want to protect it from the grandchildren's accidental spills and crayon marks.

Hi Jane, that would be a good way to protect it, and the company that will make the glass for you should provide some small clear vinyl discs to arrange under the top to keep it off the leather. The leather top almost certainly has a finish on it, (probably lacquer), but this will prolong the life of the top for sure- regards- Greg
