Question
I would like to add glass to my panel cabinets. i do not own or know how to use a jig saw, do I need to hire a carpenter to prepare my cabinets. Is this costly?

Answer
Hi Charlene,

Yes, this is a difficult undertaking. Unless you have a good selection of tools and the skill to use them, this isn't something I would recommend that you try. At the very least, you're going to need a way to cut the existing panels out of each door, and then prep the door to accept the glass. You'll need saws, probably a router with a couple of different bits, and some sanding equipment.

On the other hand, you could possibly just order new doors that will hold glass. Here are a couple of places that offer doors:

or www.caldoor.com

or http://www.maplecraftusa.com/

You might be better off just ordering new doors, rather than retrofitting your old ones.

Good luck, hope this helps,
