Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/Discoloration on Leather-Like Sofa

Question
Sir:  I have a dark green leather-like sofa of very nice quality. Trouble is, something discolored or stained an area on an armrest; about 5" by 5".
I have no ideal what done it, but the discoloration has very much lightened the material.
Can you suggest how I may repair or restore the look of the material please?
Thanks a bunch!
RON

Answer
HI,  it's very difficult to re-dye leather,  I suggest you check to see if there is an outlet for leather hydes in your area,  they may have something.  Another possible source would be a cobler since they may have dye materials to restore scuffed shoes.  Another way would be to take the sofa to an upholsterer have them remove the outside back and use that to reupholster the arm.

Unfortunately I know of no other way to restore leather.  I hope this helps a little.
