Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/LAZY SUSAN IN BASE CABINET

Question
Our house was built around 1950.  The corner cabinet in the kitchen has a "Lazy Susan."  If I had to guess, I would guess it was home-made.  It does not have the hardware that the modern Lazy Susans have.  The door is a standard cabinet door.  The Lazy Susan is completely circular - 2 shelves fixed on a long pole attached at the top and at the bottom -- I do not know how it is affixed at the bottom.  At the top there is a short piece of pipe that the long pole is supposed to fit into.   The pole has come off the top piece and the entire Lazy Susan is not sitting cockeyed in the cabinet.  I have removed everything from the shelves.  I have tried to push, pull, twist, turn, compress, every piece I can reach to no avail.  The pole is about 1/8" too long to go back into the top piece.  I cannot get the top piece to move in any way.  The pole does have a very short, 1" - 2" piece of pole with a larger fitting over the top of it.  It will not twist, turn compress, etc. in any way either. It just comes off and sits right back on.  Any suggestions?  I do not have a camera to take any pictures, but if you have any questions I will try (to the best of my limited knowledge) to answer them. Thank you so much.

Answer
You will have to remove the top piece somehow, even if it means breaking it and then having a new piece made.  any carpentry shop should should be able to make you up a new piece. explain the problem to them. bring the old piece with you. sorry I can't be more helpful without seeing what you're discribing.
