QuestionQUESTION: Dear Eileen,
I have a pine kitchen table with butcher block look. I would like to create a Tuscany look, something in a warm tone, to compliment the honey oak cabinets. What can I do to create this look?
Mary
ANSWER: Hi Mary
Nice to hear from you.
I think the question here is changing the color of your existing table top..right.
So the only way to change the wood color would be by stripping the existing finish off the table and apply the color stain you like. In this case a warm oak color.
If the pine table is now lighter and you are making it darker this should be fine.
Going from dark to light on pine is darn near impossible though.
Certainly an easy enough job, and if you need my stripping instructions let me know.
Kindest Regards

QUESTION: Eileen,
The question was not just changing the color of the wood, but to give it a Tuscany feel with some technique. Maybe with Paint, Stain, Glaze, or Tint of some kind.
Much Appreciated,
Mary
AnswerHi again Mary
I think this would be very nice.
There are so many different painting techniques for you to choose from.
Look at some of these.
