Question
Help, having just removed the table decoration from my veneered table, I have discovered a water stain underneath the protective cover which covered the table, this is drying out now, the veneer does not appeared to have lifted, however I think I will be left with a white bloom on the table, can I treat this in anyway

Answer
Hi Judith
Nice to hear from you.
Good thing you caught this before the veneer was damaged.
First try an oily product like mayonnaise..you read right LOL
Simple rub it into the bloom with a soft rag
If this fails, you will have to purchase a can of "blush eraser" from the hardware.
Good Luck

Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
