Question
Is there any way to get superglue off my wood nightstand?

Answer
Hi Marie,  I would like to know a bit more about the nightstand.  what type of wood and what type of finish, if possible.  superglue a.k.a. ca(cyanoacrylate) glue, hardens as it cures. If there is a way for it to penetrate into the wood it will.  Acetone(or nail polish remover, check that acetone is one of the ingredients) will slowly soften the glue bond but it will also destroy most finishes.  use a q tip, wet it with acetone, wet the glue spot with acetone, then use 00 fine steel wool or 600-1000 grit sand paper(found at an auto parts store) and rub and rub, wet again and repeat. try to keep the area you are working on as small as possible. If this has not helped your problem, you will need to sand down the entire surface and re apply a finish. Try the spot removal method first, if you are any good at matching stain, you can probably get it to your satisfaction.
